On Saturday, February 4, I traveled with the Miller's to Gering, Nebraska, for another tournament. It was a mess!!!
The club is participating in two different tournaments next weekend (2/18-19). I won't be able to ride with the Millers. So I'm looking for transportation...hint, hint!!!
After 3 weekends around 400+ kids, I caught a cold. Who'd of thought that would happen? ![]()
I took 3200+ photos and have posted 278 in the gallery.

This week I travelled again with the Miller family to another wrestling tournament. This time it was in Bayard, Nebraska. It was a long day. The tournament wasn't nearly as well organized as the one in Nebraska. The Lusk kids did well. With several first and second place finishes.
The challenge this week wist that there were matchs taking place in both the "old" gym and the "new" gym. Unable to be in both places at once, I missed a few matches. Plus, the lighting in the "old" gym was really dark. So I got fewer good pictures of those matches. The lighting in the "new" gym was excellent and I got lots of good photos there.
I took 2120 photos and have posted 329 in the gallery.

Check out this photo. He's Eli, one of the kids from the wrestling on Saturday. This is the first picture I took, using a really long focal length lens at a really close distance. The photo looks out of focus which it is...mostly. If you look closely you'll see that the tip of his nose and the first strands of hair are in focus. Using a long lens, with a wide aperture, at a close distance there isn't a whole lot of depth-of-field.
BTW, mohawks seem to be the haircut of choice among young wrestlers.

My surgery in the middle of last summer kind of put a dent in my photography activities for 2011. But I've started 2012 off with something new. I traveled with the Miller family to the wrestling tournament in Newcastle, WY on Saturday to take photos for the Lusk Rawhide Wrestling team. I was a fun day and I'm definitely going to have to do it again!!!
Check out all of the photos in the photo gallery.

Tonight was the annual Junior Class Play at the high school. This year's production was "Annie Play Will Do." The synopsis of the play from the program:
Because of a miscommunication with the principle, high school drama teacher Mr. Morris finds himself with only ONE DAY to cast, stage and perform the school play. In desperation, he turns to two of his best students, Paul and Laura, to take charge an co-direct the show, unaware that the two are in the middle of a nasty break-up and are no longer speaking. Things go from bad to much, much worse when Paul and Laura, practicing with their friends independently, don't realize they are rehearsing for DIFFERENT SHOWS, "Little Orphan Annie" and "Annie Get Your Gun." And the problem isn't discovered until the curtain opens. It's a theatre nightmare brought hilariously to life.
The kids did a very good job and were clearly having a lot of fun.

Certified Forklift Operator

I am now a certified forklift operator. Not only that, I am the interim WWC forklift trainer. Why? Well the Warehouse Manager has resigned and we won't be able to hire a replacement until January 1st. So in dividing up her duties they decided that I would take over the forklift training duties. At that point I suggested it might be helpful if I was trained to operate the forklift. I had my training today.
The only real tricky thing about driving a forklift is the turning. It is the rear wheels that turn and it really changes things.
